The review card lives where the client already is
A client who pays through an InspectorData payment link lands on your payment confirmation page. The star-rating card sits in the right-hand column, next to the QR code for their report. There is nowhere to navigate to and nothing to install.
- No client account required - the review is matched to the correct inspection by the payment link code in the URL.
- Name and email resolve automatically - the link code is joined to the payment link and the underlying job, so the client never re-types who they are.
- Comments are optional - a single star tap is a complete review. The box reads “Anything you’d like to add? (optional)”.
- Skipping is easy on purpose - a “Skip” button sits beside “Send review”.
Who decides which reviews go public?
You do. Every review lands on the Client Reviews moderation page at /admin/reviews.php, opened from the Reviews item in your dashboard left nav.
Four tabs, three buttons, no guesswork
The page opens on Pending by default, so the first thing you see is whatever needs a decision. The other tabs are Approved, Excluded and All. When nothing is waiting, the page says so: “All caught up — nothing waiting for moderation.”
- Approve - moves a review out of the pending queue. Confirms with “Review approved.”
- Exclude - takes a review out of circulation entirely. Confirms with “Review excluded.”
- Make Public / Make Private - the switch that controls your website. Confirms with “Review set to public.” or “Review set to private.”
- High scores skip the queue - ratings of four or five stars are written straight to approved status. One to three stars arrive as pending.
Nothing publishes itself. Approved status and public visibility are two separate switches, and the widget requires both. Even a five-star review waits for you to click Make Public before a visitor to your site can see it.
How do I put verified reviews on my website?
One empty div and one script tag. Open the Client Reviews tab in your website widget page, click Copy embed code, and paste it wherever you want reviews to appear.
Adapts to your review count
The widget picks its own layout based on how many public reviews you have.
Single card
One centered card capped at 480 pixels wide, so an early review reads as a deliberate testimonial rather than a gap in a grid.
Grid layout
A responsive auto-fill grid with a 260 pixel minimum column, reflowing cleanly from desktop down to a phone.
Carousel + stats
An auto-advancing carousel with an average-star header, previous and next arrows, clickable dots, and touch swipe on mobile.
Layout updates automatically — no changes needed as you collect more reviews.
What does a visitor to your site actually see?
At ten or more public reviews the carousel leads with your average score as a number and a star row — for example 4.8 — under the subline “Based on N verified client reviews”. Every card carries a green checkmark badge reading Verified client.
- First name, last initial only - a reviewer shows as “Sarah M.”, and the truncation happens on the server, not in the browser.
- Email is never sent to the page - the public payload carries an id, display name, score, stars, comment and date. Nothing else.
- Your brand color, automatically - the widget reads your dashboard color preference and paints the stars, avatars, dots and average score with it, falling back to a neutral slate gray.
- Token-protected and rate-limited - the public API requires your tenant token, limits callers to 60 requests a minute, and sends a five-minute cache header. The widget requests your 20 most recent public reviews.
